March 2010

Hello Mustang Parents:

This newsletter is to give you information and get you up to speed on the progress of the Milford Mustangs Board.

Since the Board was elected by the members at the General Board Elections, we have made great progress.  We have established ourselves as a Non-profit organization.  We have all the paperwork filed with the state and are in the final stages with the Federal Government for out 501(c)3 status.
We have completed and approved Bylaws.  These Bylaws are posted on our website for members to view.  In the future, all Board meeting minutes will be posted on the website.

When the board members were voted in we had 2 lifetime Board member and 6 new Board Members.  Since our meetings began one of our lifetime members, Rick Sharpe has decided to step down from the board.  Rick stated that he believed the board was heading in the right direction and decided after 20 years it was time to step down.  Rick wanted to make sure that before left the board was in a good position to move forward as an organization.
The Mustangs thank Rick Sharpe for all his time and efforts to build this organization from the beginning.
Upon loosing a board member, the Board contacted Huron Valley Recreation & Community Education and asked for the next candidate with the most votes from the February Elections.  Bill Yates was the candidate with the next highest votes received.  The Board contacted Mr. Yates and inquired if interested to be on the Board and Mr. Yates accepted.  The complete list of Board Members
 is listed on the website.

Working with Huron Valley Recreation & Community Education, we are now setup on their website and open for registration!
Partnering with Huron Valley Recreation & Community Education allows use to have more opportunities to grow our organization within the Huron Valley district.  The Mustang organization now has communications with Milford High School and their HS Football program.  Milford Football Coach Jeff Hill is committed in helping in any way to make our Mustangs fully prepared as players move towards high school.

VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteering is what will make the Milford Mustang Organization an elite club.  We will definitely need volunteers to help out in various different areas (Concessions, Setup, Cleanup, Volunteer Coordinator, Spirit wear, and more…).  If anyone is interested please contact us at our email.  Some of these positions are possible Board positions.  This season we will be requiring a Equipment and Volunteer Deposit.  The policy is posted on the website.

MUSTANG OPEN HOUSE -Friday, April 23rd from 6-8pm at Milford High School:
Come to the open house to hear how the board has been working for you!  Get information and ask questions to find out what to expect for the 2010 season.  The Board members will be there to answer and address any concerns or questions that you may have.  We will also be discussing volunteer opportunities available.  Hungry Howies is providing complimentary pizza while supplies last.
We also hope to have the team roster and coaches selected at the Open House.   So you can meet your teammates and introduce yourself to the coaches.

Thanks
