FAQ

Q: How much time do I need to volunteer each year?

A: Each family is asked to volunteer a minimum of 3 (2 hour) shifts per season.

Q: What are the volunteer jobs?

A: Volunteers are needed for each of our home games every season. We need to have at least 20 people to cover various positions from start to finish ensuring our program is run effectively. Some of those job descriptions for home game assignments are: ticket sales, chain gang, spirit wear sales, concessions, field set up and field clean up.

Q: What if I can not make the home games?

A: Grandparents or other adult family members over the age of 18 may volunteer to meet the requirement for your family. Please note that no children will be allowed in the concession while the parent is working.

Q: I like to watch my son/daughter’s game, how can I meet the volunteer requirement and watch the game.

A: There are at least 3-4 games played at home during the season. Instructional, Freshman, J.V., Varsity. You may sign up for a volunteer job that does not interfere with your child’s game. We encourage you to sign up for a game that your son or daughter is not participating in. Pre-game set up or post- game clean up volunteers are also needed.

Q: Can I contribute my time in some other way?

A: Yes! There are several positions within our program that meet the volunteer requirement such as Coaching, Unit Directors, Cheer Team Mom, Concessions Manager, and Volunteer Coordinator.

Q: Can I pay to opt out of the volunteer requirement?

A: Yes, you can pay a volunteer fee of $100.00. This payment will be due before the start of the season, August 2nd, 2010. The monies collected will then be used to pay other such personnel, clubs, or organizations to perform the volunteer jobs that are required for each game.

Q: How do I sign up to be a volunteer?

A: During equipment pick up or within the first few days of practice you will be given a volunteer assignment sheet. This sheet is just general information our coordinator will need, child’s name, team, and your preferred volunteer assignment. And as the season gets underway, you will be contacted by your son or daughter’s unit director. Assignments will be posted prior to each home game. If you are unsure of what you’d like to do, please remember that you can always send an email to the volunteer coordinator; however, assignments are based on a first come first served basis.

Thank you for your continued support of the Milford Mustang Program.

Our organization would not run without the help and time from each family.
